GHCH Welcomes New Interim CEO
With the departure of our Leader/CEO, John Mitchell, the hospital Board has appointed newcomer Michael Fraser as Interim CEO.
John’s last day with us will be Friday, December 11. Michael joins us on Monday, December 14. Michael has more than 20 years experience in hospital administration. Several of those years were spent at a hospital that shares our workplace culture philosophies. The Senior Team had an opportunity to meet with Michael prior to his appointment. He stressed the importance of treating people with respect and dignity and talked about how Teamwork not only makes your daily job more enjoyable, but it makes for safer hospitals, too.
Since retiring from full-time hospital work, Michael has started a consulting firm that specializes in a variety of services. One of them is providing interim management for hospitals or healthcare systems. He recently finished serving nine months as Interim CEO at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg. The GHCH Board of Directors does not anticipate it taking that long to find John’s permanent replacement. They are hopeful that it will only be four to six months. In the meantime, please join us in welcoming Michael Fraser to our team!
